except の使い方

in accordance with A, except that the reference to “XYZ” in that provision is a reference to the applicable S requirements set out in PQR standard.

「Aに従う、ただしAの"XYZ"という部分は、PQR基準のSに準ずることを除き」

Aの中にXYZという記述があって、そのXYZは(Aでは指示していないのだけれども)Sで定められる。
Aで色々定められていて、全てAに従う、ただしXYZだけは例外であって、XYZはSで定められます、ということ。

こういう、exceptやら、all...butやら、nothing...butやらというのは、読みにくく、かつ日本語にもしにくい。
